Was Acoburndavis at The Provincial a mag?
We stumbled on this restaurant after our originally planned restaurant had been too busy, and what a great bit of luck that was!We were greeted by a very enthusiastic man, who showed us the menu and told us we could go and get some alcohol and use them BYOB with no corkage. Winner. We had three tapas-y dishes, fish fritters with a lovely spicy sauce, garlic prawns and something else.We then each had a main, which were... View all feedback.

What MinaKarina dislikes about The Provincial:
The waiter who welcome and serve us was really friendly . We took the £36 deal : 1 litre of sangria 6 tapas. The sangria could have been better , for the food , some dishes were better than others : I liked the chicken wings , the ceviche and lentils stew but I was disappointed by the goat cheese croquetas which did not taste so fresh.. Great prices, delicious food, excellent service. I wouldn't have asked for a better place for a Sunday dinner with friends. the workers are warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was great. oh, and did I mention the delicious food?!

I've been dining at the provincial several times and it's never to impress. the service can sometimes be a little slow, but the decor is relaxed and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. the prices are reasonable and the portions generous, and all I have tried was a hit, especially the ceviche, ripen and chicken stew. While I was a bit skeptical at our first visit, I was quickly convinced after I had taken up the food and tried. in any case a popular place in brixton and worth a visit if they are in the opposite.

My wife had been here before and really enjoyed it so we decided to give it a go. We arrived quite early. Even so the interior was full bar one table which we bagged. There was a good selection of Tapas which were mainly Spanish and main courses were South American. We shared the chorizo in wine, ham croquettes and the cod fish cakes in a ginger sauce. All were good although the outside of the fish cakes were a tad leathery For mains I had lamb in coriander with chips and salad. The lamb was wonderful and the chips the best I have eaten in years large and crisp and golden. My wife had the pork belly with rice which was (almost) as good. My youngest daughter had the pulled pork which...read more

Food was excellent. Pork belly is really really nice. Prawns were good. My daughter liked the meatballs very much along with the chips. The Colombian styled walls are full of joy and they make me happy seeing all the colours.

Great food and hospitality all evening. Excellent recommendations of choice starters and mains. Challenged with the pepper sauce and extra side. Seafood is delicious and the wings were fall off the bone succulent. William is a star host and makes you feel at home.
