Nestled in Streatham, a café offers a mixed experience, ranging from delightful brunches to questionable service. While some patrons rave about expertly crafted dishes featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients and commendable coffee, others lament inconsistent waitstaff and confusion with orders. The café’s charm lies in its inviting atmosphere, but concerns about cleanliness and professionalism often overshadow its culinary appeal. With influences from Mediterranean flavors and vegetarian-friendly options, it continues to attract loyal locals. Overall, despite some setbacks, this café promises potential for a delightful dining experience—if you can navigate the quirks. Keep an eye on its evolving offerings!.

Was borsay1 at Brooks Gao a mag?
My friends and I walked in here after going to the gym and it was my first time and I really enjoyed it. The food was very nice and so too were the drinks. The service was quick and the staff were knowledgeable about the specials and great at recommending which dishes to try. The staff were friendly and had a warm smile on show and plenty of people who were attentive to your needs. The prices were reasonable too! Wou... View all feedback.

What Claire Edwards dislikes about Brooks Gao:
I used to live on Streatham Hill but haven’t been that way for a while, so we headed over on a Saturday morning to go to Nineteen for breakfast. I was craving one of their lovely fry-ups with thick, meaty sausages and bright orange runny eggs – the surprise on arriving was that it is currently a building site. I don’t know if it’s coming back or been bought by someone else, but will keep an eye out as it was great. View all feedback.

I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new sandwich spot. After finding this place online, I decided to try their focaccia sandwich with salami rosa, aioli, pistachio salsa, and radicchio. It was hands down one of the best things I have ever eaten in London. The service was quick despite everything being made to order. Although it is a bit expensive and has limited opening hours, the quality of the food speaks for itself and is definitely worth every penny. They also have a great selection of European cheese, wine, and bread, so I will definitely be returning in the future.

Great artisan feel, delectable cakes and coffee! Honestly the best coffee I’ve had in ages. Will definitely be returning for brunch.

Amazing selection of produce, especially cheeses. Sandwiches delicious. Grilled cheese is special. Opening hours aren’t ideal but the quality makes up for it.

We stumbled upon this café by chance and were confused by its appearance. The café was decorated with old, broken chairs and a counter filled with food products that even the flies seemed interested in. Despite waiting over 10 minutes for the waiter to take our order, they never came to our table. My boyfriend had to approach the counter to order, while the waiter moved at a slow pace around the tables, seemingly more interested in clearing them than taking orders. When our food finally arrived, the order was incorrect. The person at the counter even offered to add a sauce to our dish. The prices seemed too high for the simple dishes they served, which were not expertly prepared. We witnessed a family come in claiming they had a reservation, only to be laughed at by the waiter and cook. It all seemed rather unprofessional and off-putting. Brooks and Gao, not as cool as they seemed.

This is one of my preferred spots in Streatham. The food is fantastic, especially for vegetarians, although my meat-eating partner also enjoys it. The coffee is excellent, as is the fresh orange juice.
