It is an older bar/restaurant that was quite busy, so we requested to sit outside in the picnic area. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would consider it a hidden gem.

They have pool table, touch tunes and hook 21 for entertainm... read more The Browns Hill Tavern was a pleasant surprise. Nice selection of beers; ample parking and seating. They have pool table, touch tunes and hook 21 for entertainment. The bar has satellite TV with the Seasonal Sports Package. An Automatic Transaction Machine is on site for convenience, but credit is also accepted. I'm not sure about personal or travelers checks. Food was legit. Recommendations: TOTS, burger, cheesesteak, cheddar beef. Signature drink Screaming Viking. Friendly service, I will visit again.

For $80 a night the price is prett... read more This is a review of the motel. I don't typically write reviews, but I thought this experience was poor enough to warrant one. For $80 a night the price is pretty good for around State College. That said, the front door was hard to open with the key the room smelled of stale smoke the lamps by the bed wouldn't turn on the lamps outside the motel were very bright and left on throughout the night until sunrise. The curtains inside couldn't block out the light. Needless to say I slept very poorly. The heat pump heating the room also turned on every 15 minutes which was kind of annoying. the towels had a few small stains on them The lady at the front desk was very nice to me at check in. The shower was warm. If you're on a budget needing a place to stay near State College, you can probably get more for your money somewhere else.
