Casey's - Lakin
Casey's
Description
Casey’s in Lakin, Kansas, struggles with management and service consistency, leading to frequent delays in pizza and baked goods preparation and poor customer experiences. Patrons report unresponsive staff, limited access to restrooms, and ongoing maintenance issues, such as malfunctioning fuel pumps and empty supply buckets. Despite its appeal as a preferred stop over other truck stores, operational problems, including late openings and poorly stocked coolers, diminish its reliability. While loyal customers appreciate the brand, improvements in staff professionalism, timely service, and facility maintenance are crucial to restore confidence and enhance the overall experience at this location.

I worked there and it's a horrible place to work for! General manager did not run the place professionally at all. No leadership in that store what so ever! I was embarrassed to work there as a team member that's why I quit!
I had a very disappointing experience at Casey's. The person at the counter was exceptionally rude. There was no greeting when I entered, and no thank you when I left. I requested a receipt for my gas and waited at the counter for help. When he finally emerged from the back office, he looked at me, rolled his eyes, and sighed as though my presence was an inconvenience. I politely asked for a receipt for pump 4, and he responded with an exasperated sigh, slammed the cash register keys, yanked the receipt out, and handed it to me forcefully before turning and walking away. This was the worst customer service I've ever encountered at Casey's!
During a 12-hour road trip, we stopped at Casey's in Lakin, Kansas, to refuel. With my 5-year-old and 9-year-old needing a bathroom break, we arrived at 8:45 PM, well before the store's closing time of 10:00 PM. Unfortunately, the cashier told us that the restrooms were off-limits because they were being cleaned. I pointed out that, as customers who had just purchased gas, food, and drinks, we should be allowed access to the facilities. The cashier, however, rudely replied, "We are cleaning the bathrooms, so you can't use them!" This encounter left us disappointed and reflected very poorly on the establishment.
The restaurant is in desperate need of a new manager. The overall work ethic, starting from the top, is lacking. They seldom answer the phone, and the pizza and baked goods are not consistently available at the right times of day. The preparation of the pizzas often takes a considerable amount of time, which seems to reflect a lack of effort from the management.
I love casey stores vs other corporate truck stops. It started with the pizza, but I don't think your putting enough additive in your diesel. Took me almost 30 minutes to not fill up. Could have gotten more out of me to maybe pay for the additive. Let's try this again sometime. I buy it for the truck and I know it does add to the overall cost.
