Gaston's - Lakeview
Gaston's
Description
Gaston’s Restaurant offers a mix of experiences that reflect a divided opinion among patrons. While some diners rave about the delicious food, attentive service, and stunning river views, others express disappointment over inflated prices and inconsistent food quality. Issues such as long wait times and subpar dishes mar the experience for some, particularly during busy times like Mother’s Day. However, positive experiences shine through, highlighting great brunch options and friendly staff. Overall, Gaston’s seems to cater well to those seeking a relaxing atmosphere and good meals, but potential diners are advised to manage their expectations regarding service and pricing.

The best restaurant in the area! We had a wonderful dinner at Gaston's by the river. The Jon Boat salad bar was truly impressive, with a wide variety of options, so I highly recommend adding that to your meal. We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders along the windows facing the river, as well as the fishing boats passing by during our dinner. The decor is unique and intriguing, filled with various collections and antiques. We even encountered some peacocks wandering about; one blocked our car and oddly began to peck at it, prompting someone to chase it away, which was quite a sight! Additionally, there’s a small area with a birdcage featuring turkeys, peacocks, and other birds near the parking lot entrance. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot, a gift shop, and both indoor and outdoor restrooms.
Such a fun place to visit and dine. The food was good, and the service was good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I would not recommend going to this restaurant for Sunday brunch unless you are okay with the idea of McDonald's being considered a suitable option for a first date. While the food on the buffet was decent, it is not a fair representation of the chef, menu, and kitchen at this beautiful restaurant. The cost of a regular meal here far exceeds the price of the Sunday buffet, so I would suggest waiting for a special occasion to enjoy the regular menu and prices. Once you have tried a few dishes and become familiar with the menu, then you can consider stopping by for the budget-friendly Sunday deal.
