Then the owner decided not to keep up with the 5 star dining regulations. When he made that decision, he should have lowered his prices. So disappointing now. It 's just a tourist trap because once you get there, there are no other restaurants for miles. Shame on you Mr. Gaston. You know your food should be better for the prices you charge. Reviews say Really? If you would charge what your food is really worth, people wouldn 't complain so much.

The Jon Boat salad bar was truly impressive, with a wide variety of options... read more The best restaurant in the area! We had a wonderful dinner at Gaston's by the river. The Jon Boat salad bar was truly impressive, with a wide variety of options, so I highly recommend adding that to your meal. We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders along the windows facing the river, as well as the fishing boats passing by during our dinner. The decor is unique and intriguing, filled with various collections and antiques. We even encountered some peacocks wandering about; one blocked our car and oddly began to peck at it, prompting someone to chase it away, which was quite a sight! Additionally, there’s a small area with a birdcage featuring turkeys, peacocks, and other birds near the parking lot entrance. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot, a gift shop, and both indoor and outdoor restrooms.
