I had the Kau Kau Tin, our guests had the Pistachio Wasabi Ahi and my husband had the Asian Bouillabaisse. We finished off with Lilikoi Bars. The menu was creative, interesting and varied. Our food was simply delicious and excellently prepared with enticing flavors. This was my first time for dinner and the first time for everyone else at Macadangdang's. Joey and his staff did not disappoint. We all decided this would be a place to come back to and to come back soon and often. We want to try more items on the menu. The noise level made it somewhat difficult to hear our wait person whose service, nonetheless, was impeccable and personable.
Dumplings and tempura roll we're excellent. Duck pot was good. Next time we will need to try some of the other entrees.
My first here in Maui island, MacaDangDang was excellent experience! The ambience is chill with modern flare. My party had the pork belly lechon, sisig, special spicy tuna roll. The pork belly was awesome, crispy to perfection skin on the outside and tender juicy meat with soo much flavor inside perfect with the bed of mash and veggies. The sisig was flavorful with high citrus notes, the only thing I would suggest is when served on cast iron plate, I prefer sisig to be sizzling, add egg on top and let it cook as you mixed all the mix while it cooks to a crunchy texture and savoriness, if you do this I guarantee it’ll become a goto favorite. The special spicy tuna roll imo was ok, the slight kick of habanero was there, but I was looking for something more to set it apart from common spicy tuna that I’ve had. And last but not least the Ube cheesecake, hands down the best damn ube cheesecake I’ve had in awhile, simply perfect!
We dined at this restaurant twice during our vacation, and both experiences were fantastic. On our first night, our server was exceptional and provided great recommendations. We started with drinks, choosing the delicious Lil Plane and the smoky Old Fashioned. For appetizers, we had pot stickers, which were good. For sushi, we tried the Kaanapali Roll and the Tuna Poke Roll, both of which were amazing. Our server also suggested a local fish special, and it did not disappoint—it was very good. To finish off the meal, we indulged in Ube Cheesecake, which was rich and delicious. During our second visit, we focused solely on sushi, and it was just as wonderful. Definitely give this place a try; you won’t be disappointed!
