Urth Caffe - Laguna Beach

I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Mediterranean dishes at this restaurant. I was pleased to find that everything was flavorful, as I have struggled to find good Mediterranean restaurants in California.

The food was delicious, but the coffee was disappointing. Unfortunately, the presence of pigeons was quite bothersome.

The coffee shop is great, but the wait time and service are terrible. We had to wait 30 minutes to order two lattes and another 30 minutes sitting on very uncomfortable seats for our order to arrive. When I expressed my concern to the employee delivering the order, he simply said that the restaurant was busy. I told him that was not an acceptable response, but he repeated the same answer as he walked away. I observed their service closely and noticed there was no sense of urgency in serving customers. This is why we only go there once every couple of months. This issue could easily be resolved by having faster staff and more registers taking orders.

This is a great cafe with a good choice of breakfast, lunch and many desert! Coffee is superb and we ordered wild mushroom pizza, paradise salad and Greek salad. All were excellent. Very busy place and a line to the curb during peak hours. Street parking and they have 2 order pick up spots behind the cafe. I highly recommend trying this place and sit on the patio or inside and enjoy!

Everything is so good, except the temperature of the coffee and tea. Now if the drinks didn’t get cool by the time they get to the table (the taste was still very good), I would give it 5 stars. Must must get the individual fruit tart…to die for!
