The Cooperage 32 Lafayette circle, (925) 298-5915. L-D daily. This lively space features a wide open interior with several dining areas, including a large heated terrace and a large bar area. Comfort foods and vintage cocktails are staples on the relatively small, regularly changing menu-dink-deviled egg with bacon, Mac’n cheese, Brown Derby salad (Roasted Rotisserie Chicken, Speck, Blue Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Egg)... I thought the restaurant was great. The service was amazing. The food was good a little salty, but good. This noise in the restaurant was so loud I couldn't even hear our waiter. I'm hoping that they can figure out the sound issue in the restaurant. View all feedback.
I found the restaurant to be excellent. The service was exceptional, and the food was tasty, though a bit on the salty side. However, the noise level in the restaurant was quite disruptive; I could barely hear our waiter. I'm hopeful they can address the sound issue.
We had a lovely dinner at the Cooperage with another couple on Saturday night. The service was excellent, and our drinks, appetizers, and main courses were served promptly. I appreciated that fresh silverware was provided with each course, which is always a nice touch. It seems the menu changes frequently, as the items we saw online were different from what was available that night. Everyone found something delicious, right up to dessert; however, I was disappointed that the chocolate bread pudding was not on the menu that evening. The atmosphere was quite noisy, even though some steps have been taken to reduce the volume. A wall between the bar and the main dining area could help with this. It would be nice if customers were more mindful of their noise levels. At least they seemed to be having a good time!
It was incredibly loud, to the point where we had to shout to hear each other and eventually just gave up. The food and service were great, but the noise and atmosphere were so unpleasant that we wouldn’t return.
This place is the best new restaurant in the Walnut Creek area. They've kept the same great food from the Lafayette location but much better building, atmosphere and location. Fantastic brunch.
Service was poor. All other tables around us that were seated long after us received their drinks and first and de second courses before we did. Half our party finally received their food and when the others finally theirs food, the first food was cold and inedible. Poorly executed. Won't return anytime soon.
