Mel's burned down a few years back, and this was our first time in the rebuilt diner. It was great! What Ask M doesn't like about Mel's Diner:
The new owners decided they no longer support Veterans and Active Duty. It's insulting. If the owners don't support the military then the military members shouldn't support them. View all feedback.
Food was delicious and fast considering how busy it was. Staff was friendly. Will be back the next time I'm in Lafayette.
Mel’s never disappoints!! The waffles and omelets!!

Diner food quick and easy they're usually pretty busy but if you find some time they're not it's a great place.
We go here about once a week, so obviously we like it. It's what you would expect of a diner; low prices, good food, fast service, and a variety of options to eat. The food may not be exceptional but it is very good. You'll get enough to satisfy your appetite at a good price. An added bonus is the oldies music that is played while you dine.
