Barranco - Lafayette
Barranco
Description
Barranco restaurant offers a mixed dining experience, where the food quality shines against a backdrop of inconsistent service. Guests have praised dishes like Lomo Saltado and Pescado a lo Macho for their taste and creativity, while others noted misses with items like paella and overly saucy entrees. The atmosphere is lively, enhanced by friendly staff and live music, but service can lag, leading to frustrations over delays and incorrect orders. While some diners celebrate the enjoyable meals and delicious drinks, others lament the high prices and limited menu choices, leaving the overall impression one of potential rather than consistency.

Rushed service main course arrived almost immediately after the appetizer was served. Paella was tasty but mostly rice with very little seafood. Very disappointing!
My wife and I had a great experience having lunch on the patio. It was a beautiful day outside.
Food was good, service was great. It was cold inside, not sure why. We got the grilled octopus for starters and it was a bit tough and chewy, flavor was good. Wife got the lomo saltado and the steak tasted great, I got the ají de gallina and really liked it.
We decided to try Barranco for Sunday brunch especially after we saw on their website that they do bottomless mimosas and sangria. Well, that turned out not to be the case. Our server, who was prompt and kind, had absolutely no idea what I was talking about when I asked about bottomless mimosas. Why advertise something that you don't offer? The food was delicious but there was no brunch menu and my husband, who has food sensitivities to gluten and soy, found little options. The place was completely empty and although the decor and ambiance are nice, it felt odd. Just not what we expected after hearing so much about their brunch offerings that were just not offered.
