What User likes about Brown Bear:
We had a delicious lunch here, the food is excellent, the chef clearly knows what he/she is doing. Staff were very friendly and service was quick given the standard of the food. Very hard to find a gastro' pub serving food as good as this. Can highly recommend. View all feedback. What User doesn't like about Brown Bear:
The vegetables were served raw, the lamb meat was rare and in small portions, and the potatoes were dry and microwaved. The chicken was also dry, with an oily garlic sauce on the plate. The chips were the only highlight. The dessert was acceptable, with ice cream and frozen strawberries, a good banoffee, and a decent death by chocolate that left a strong dark chocolate taste in your mouth. Tea and coffee were not ava... View all feedback.

I always return to this restaurant. The menu is intriguing, the wait staff is fantastic, and they pay meticulous attention to detail. A must-visit in the area.

The food and service at this restaurant are consistently excellent. It's a cut above the rest, making it worth the trip for those who are not local.

This restaurant offers a mixed experience with some patrons finding the food lacking in quality and portion size, while others rave about the delicious dishes and friendly service. The cozy atmosphere and efficient waitstaff receive high praise from many diners, with some noting the exceptional attention to detail in both food and service. The location is described as beautiful, with the halibut standing out as a mouth-watering option. Overall, while there may be some inconsistencies in reviews, this restaurant seems to have a loyal following and is worth a visit for those in search of a warm and inviting dining experience.

Always good service at the Brown Bear. Nice atmosphere and surroundings with an excellent menu. A hidden gem.

Very pleasant meal in the bar part as there was a wedding meal. Starters and main course and a shared dessert. Plates cleaned in all cases enough said.

Lovely food. Good and friendly service. We were only customers that I could see so lacking a bit of atmosphere. But would certainly return.
