Bojangles - Ladson
Bojangles
Description
At this busy Ladson Road fast‑food spot, food earns praise — pimento cheese, chicken biscuits and sweet tea draw fans — but service is inconsistent. Crowds, long drive‑thru lines and inattentive crews can make waits lengthy, with occasional missing menu items, app and curbside mix‑ups, and order errors. Staff friendliness and quick, community‑minded service surface at times; better staffing, pickup communication and management oversight could make a hit‑or‑miss favorite reliably enjoyable.

We visited this Bojangles location for lunch and opted for curbside pickup. Throughout the wait, the app never indicated that our order was being prepared. After sitting in parking spot 1 for 40 minutes, my husband called, and the woman on the phone said she would check on the order but mentioned they were short-staffed. Suddenly, three employees stood inside by the single entrance/exit door, where they remained chatting for about 15 minutes before my husband got out to inquire about our order. None of them wanted to open the door, but one employee finally did. My husband explained he had been waiting for 55 minutes. She asked for the name, then glanced at a table with a box, which turned out to be our order. She apologized but said there was no one available to bring out the food. It was frustrating to see three employees standing right there for 15 minutes, chatting, when they could have simply delivered our food. Also, if you’re so short-staffed that no one can run food, how are customers supposed to know when their order is ready or that they need to come to the door? The app never updated to show that the order was being prepared or ready. Our number was on the ticket attached to the box, but apparently they didn’t have the staff to even make a courtesy call. I won’t be returning to this location again.
I don’t understand how the manager tolerates such behavior from the employees. I ordered a 3-wing dinner but received 2 thighs and a drumstick without any offer of a substitute or a refund. If they were out of wings, a heads-up at the ordering window would have been appreciated. I will be avoiding this place in the future!
The staff at the Bojangles on Ladson Road are always friendly and definitely worth the wait. Occasionally, they might open a bit late if they're short-staffed, but I believe it's worth it. Their pimento cheese is fantastic! A chicken biscuit with pimento cheese is simply a little slice of heaven.
THIS PLACE DESERVES A WARNING: AVOID EATING HERE. I suspect the employees get paid regardless of whether they’re actually working. I visited on a Saturday, and no one seemed happy to be there. They moved at a snail’s pace. The lobby was packed, the drive-thru wrapped around the building, and there was a long line just to place an order. They took their time, chatting and joking with one another instead of focusing on their jobs. It didn’t seem like they were short-staffed either—there were enough workers to engage in idle conversation. I don't understand how this place stays in business. They might want to start monitoring their service, because with that much of a wait, the lines should definitely be moving quicker. Customers deserve better service than what I experienced. Next time, I’ll make sure to read the reviews beforehand to avoid this situation.
