Crazy Gringo - Laconia
Crazy Gringo
Description
The Mexican restaurant, situated along the lakefront, has a bustling bar area and multiple dining options. Despite a previous decline in quality, the food remains decent, with standout dishes like refried beans and nachos. However, some customers have reported rude encounters with staff, including an unfriendly bartender. The overall dining experience seems hit or miss, but the flavorful food and lively atmosphere make it worth a visit.

We absolutely love the Crazy Gringo! It’s not just the food, service, or clientele that we enjoy; it’s the whole atmosphere! From the very first time we visited, we...
This restaurant has deteriorated considerably over the years. It was once excellent, but despite the same owners still being in charge (with a Cadillac parked out front), it no longer meets my expectations. It's disheartening to see it fail to live up to the positive memories I once had.
After a lovely walk around the lake, we chose to stop by this restaurant located on the lakeshore. The bar area was lively and full of energy, and it seemed to be one of several dining choices in the vicinity.
If it were possible to give half a star, I would. The waitress was rude, the food arrived cold, and the rice was clumped together in balls. When I complained, I was laughed at and still had to pay full price for a meal that wasn’t even fit for a starving dog. I will never return—this place was terrible.
We parked in Crazy Gringo’s lot, but before going in, I needed to quickly grab my sunglasses from Compass next door. An older, disgruntled man—who I assume is the owner—came out yelling, "THIS IS A PRIVATE PARKING LOT! LEAVE! ISN’T THE SIGN BIG ENOUGH?!" Instead of explaining we were just grabbing my sunglasses before dining, we decided this might be a sign of a disappointing experience ahead. We simply apologized and left. It’s unfortunate that this angry individual chose to take out their frustration on others today. I hope things improve for you soon. Too bad, as we had heard the Crazy Gringo menu was quite good.
