I live 4 minutes from Hectors and I feel lucky. My family eats here often, never fails. I get the steak tips with fries and cole slaw and it's the freakin best, every time. Service is nice and kind. It's just down home good normal food. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hectors Fine Food Spirits:
Order on the Bear BatteredShrimp price was listed 9.? Came with pommes. When I look at my recite, the Guinness Shrimp load does not read beer as it is on the menu. we then asked one side of the onion rings, but said it came with fries or rings OK, but my slip charge was 13.49 and 15.49 for fat frozen shrimps and fries. Then they sneak in a$1.00 for COVID a joke buy a few shoes you calculate extra because it sanitize... View all feedback.
Went in to grab a beverage and appetizers- party of two. Lots of open tables inside and out but barely got acknowledged when we walked in then it took 10 minutes to seat us. Ordered wine, soda, nachos and potato skins. Drinks were fine but had to cover my wine due to fruit flies. Apps not super great IMO. The beef on nachos was dry and flavorless and the cheese had everything stuck together like it had been sitting. The potato skins were really a potato sliced the long way with cheese and a little bit of bacon. Where’s the skins? It took about 30 minutes for the apps. The service was ok but I prefer someone taking initiative for drink refills and who does check backs. Probably not a place I’d pick again give their prices and knowing that they can get simple things right. Also it’s VERY loud in this restaurant but we felt lucky to sit up higher than main floor.
Great food great atmosphere with live piano definitely going back
Some one needs to tell the cook that clams are not good fried dark and to a crisp.. neither is the fish on the fish and chips.. so disappointed with what could have been great clams.. we looked forward to them.. not good at all. We come often. The waitress was excellent. Maybe you need another deep fry cook .. some one with experience..
Very friendly staff. Food is good with healthy portions. Building was part of the Laconia Car company, that made railroad cars before the turn of the last century. Wheelchair accessibility: I met a friend here who is presently confined to a wheelchair. He parks and enters through the back of the restaurant. It is his favorite place.
If you’re looking for a place to ruin your appetite, Hector’s is the perfect choice. The food here is nothing short of an abomination. To start, the atmosphere was from “fine dining.” The decor was tacky and outdated, with a thick layer of dust on every surface, suggesting a severe lack of cleanliness. The service was abysmal at best. Our server was inattentive, disappearing for long stretches and showing a complete lack of interest in our table. It took an unacceptable amount of time to place a drink order. When our drinks finally arrived, they were poorly made and tasted like dishwater. The food was an absolute atrocity. For a restaurant touting itself as fine dining, the quality was shockingly low. My steak, which I ordered medium-rare, arrived charred on the outside and completely raw in the middle—an impressive feat of incompetence. It was tough, flavorless, and impossible to chew. My partner 's seafood pasta was a soggy mess, with overcooked noodles swimming in a watery, tasteless sauce. The shrimp were rubbery and clearly not fresh, likely defrosted minutes before hitting the plate. The sides were uninspired, tasteless, and clearly reheated from frozen. Even the desserts couldn’t redeem this meal. The cheesecake was dense and dry, more like a brick than a dessert. Every dish at Hector’s felt like a culinary disaster. To add insult to injury, the prices were outrageous. For the level of quality and service, Hector’s charges a premium that is entirely unjustified. This meal was a blatant rip-off, leaving us feeling swindled and deeply disappointed. The lack of quality, freshness, and basic cooking skills was shocking for a place with such high prices. Save yourself the disappointment and find a restaurant that actually knows how to prepare a decent meal.
