Un repas du soir pris sur la terrasse ombragée. Une petite carte mais des mets préparés avec soin. Du personnel compétent, attentif et agréable, voilà de quoi satisfaire les plus difficiles. View all feedback.
We had an amazing lunch. The food was great, the wine (chosen by the waiter)went perfectly with the food . It was unexpected but what a great surprise!!!! I thoroughly recommend this place !!!
Wow. We didn't arrive expecting a gastro feast but that's what we got. Various amuse bouches, starters, mains, desserts and petit fours all cleverly created, beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were charming with the kids who lapped up the drama and excitement of each course, including being presented with frogs legs for the first time which caused great excitement if a little trepidation. My son said if was his best meal ever. €110 is more than we would typically spend on a family meal but worth every cent.
It was a really wonderful experience. Every meal we had was a pleasant surprise from A to Z, captivating presentation and such an incredible taste. Accompanied by wine and bread (fait maison) perfectly chosen. The service was great too, perfect timing between every course.
A well hidden gem in the Bresse region in a quiet village called l'Abergement Clemenciat Wonderful and creative food (I think the restaurant used to have a 1 Michelin star few years back) Great staff, very friendly and passionate with food I went several times with my family over the past 5 years and was never disappointed by the quality of the food, wine and service. Specifically I have very fond memories of the lobster declination (a 3-course menu) that was as inventive as it was succulent; definitively one of the best food I enjoyed for a very long time. Will definitively come back again, next time I am in the region
Firstly, Le Saint Lazare is not in Bourg-en-Bresse. It is in a tiny village a few kilometres from Chatillon-Sur-Chalaronne. I was taken here by some colleagues from our office nearby and was initially a bit sceptical about being taken to the middle of nowhere. My only reassurance was that my colleagues were French, like their food, and had told me they come here regularly. They would be unlikely to take me to somewhere too shabby ! Whilst L’Arbergement-Clemenciat is a proverbial “one-horse” village, at least the restaurant looked modern from the outside and had an attractive terrace for the summer. Inside, we were escorted to a bright, airy room and sat down to inspect the menu. Drinks soon arrived, although the only beer available was either Leffe Red or Hoegaarden so they brought me a bottle of both ! The wine my colleague ordered was also excellent. Officially I took 2 courses from the 31 euro menu, but I received so much more than that. Firstly, the Amuse Bouche consisted of three separate appetisers before my Foie Gras starter was served. This was delicious and not as rich as you sometimes get. Ample supplies of different types of bread were served during all our courses. My main dish was the Chicken Poulet a la crème selon Clarisse and this was fabulous. An extra serving was available from the pot it was cooked in, but as I was already starting to feel a bit full this was polished off by one of my colleagues. A cheese board was next to arrive, and I was advised to start from the left as the 6 different cheeses were arranged according to strength, with the most powerful one being on the bottom right. I was able to make my way through the different cheeses until I got to the last one, which was unfortunately far too strong for my liking ! Next came dessert, where the “Big Mac” was actually macaroon with ice-cream, and to finish we were all given a little plastic bag with some local chocolate. As we were leaving the chef came from the kitchen to chat with my colleagues Le Saint Lazare was an incredible find, and it is amazing that such a high quality, good value restaurant is in such a remote location. Tremendous food and excellent service, I look forward to going back
