This bar and restaurant is the city historic centre. It is great for seating on the patio and sip an aperitiv, have nice convenient food, a chilled drink in the evening or a cappuccino. In the morning. The host are friendly and can also be good company if you travel solo like me. There is free internet access, and indoor seating as well. What JacquelineR197 doesn't like about Blanc Cafe:
Absolutely disgusting food. The focaccia was hard and tasteless. Two of the four meals ordered had to be sent back as they were cold. Returned to the table 60 sec later, microwaved. The seafood risotto has got to be the worst dish I was ever served. Vile, tasteless offering. They were out of french fries at 6pm…….. They were out of the house red wine but suggested a bottle of Merlot, mediocre quality, outrageously pr... View all feedback.

First. I hope I am referring to the correct establishment! I am in possession of the bill, which states ' Bar Blanc ', but indicates Via del Prione 191 We called in for a light meal. The menu did not have one price on it! As we went in, we noticed the board outside, indicating reasonable cost,we ordered two meals. No complaints at all. So much so, we asked for a bottle of the local wine, to accompany the food. As we had been to quite a few local restaurants, and been charged between 5-8 euros for half or full carafes, we were expecting the same. A bottle was brought, and before opening,we confirmed that it was the local wine,to which the answer was yes. On our first night in La Spezia, we dined at a reasonably class restaurant, and were charged 13 euros for a bottle. Imagine our surprise, when we were presented with the bill, that this wine was 20 euros! Our two food meals, were priced at 8 euros each, and we did not have a problem with that. However, I refused to pay, and after a long argument, was charged 12 euros. The bar does not take credit cards, so fortunately, I did have enough cash. The waitress serving us was very nice, and apologetic, but she was being led by the owner, as to the price of the wine. In hindsight, we should have asked the price, but bearing in mind the cost of wine in far superior establishments, was reasonable, we assumed the same would apply here. Obviously not!
Very expensive prices and very regular quality. I felt so scammed... 3 euros a cocacola in a place like this... come on!
Then the place is great and all you can eat and amazing, but since they brought a new waitress let's say that it's a who tries to let me or my girlfriend quit but details, however of the rest is a nice place
Nice place, the waiter got confused and brought espresso from a little ice instead of cold lattes, but risotto with seafood, aperol and salad were delicious.
