Yum Yum donuts is the best in the East Part of San Diego. Always fresh, well shaped donuts and available anytime they are open. By comparison go to DD Duncan Donuts and by mid day they are out of donuts. Yum Yum donuts are made on the location. The physical location is clean and neat. I had a very disappointing experience with the service at this restaurant last night. I ordered coffee and donuts, and frankly, I was let down. I didn’t want to write this review, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts due to the poor service. When I asked the waitress for sugar, she informed me that she could only provide a different type because the sugar she normally uses was too far away for her to retrieve. That felt quite awkward. Her demeanor also came across as unprofessional. If the staff isn’t willing to serve customers appropriately, they might want to reconsider their roles. When we made additional requests, she ignored us and even slammed the door. All in all, it was a very frustrating experience.
The donuts and food here are delicious, and the drinks are great as well. Unfortunately, the customer service really detracted from my experience. When I requested a bagel, the man who was working on the night of July 10, 2022, seemed unwilling to make it. I then asked for a banana milkshake, but he again refused, suggesting I try a chocolate milk instead. It’s really frustrating when staff don't seem willing to do their job, especially when they come off as rude while doing so. Overall, you can expect tasty food, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. If you want to avoid having your day or night spoiled by someone else's negative attitude, I recommend looking elsewhere.
Yum Yum Donuts is the best in the eastern part of San Diego. Their donuts are always fresh and perfectly shaped, available whenever they're open. In comparison, Dunkin' Donuts often runs out of donuts by midday. Yum Yum Donuts makes their treats on-site, and the physical location is clean and tidy. They adhere to COVID-19 safety measures, using rigid plastic barriers around the display cases for customer safety. I also find that a 'dozen' Yum Yum donuts actually includes 14 pieces, which is a great deal! I highly recommend it! - Andy
In my honest opinion, the regular-sized donuts taste better because you get a nice balance of fluffiness and a good ratio of dough to frosting! That said, the mini donuts are cute and great for portion control. However, the real standout for me was their fresh-squeezed juice!
The donuts here are the best, the prices are fair, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The service is excellent, and there's a great variety of options in a convenient location. I especially enjoy the buttermilk donuts and the ham and cheese croissants.
