What User doesn't like about Farmer's Table La Mesa:
the service was extremely bad. they have the wrong time. they calculated 18% service fee because we had six people who called them a big party. they changed the waiter in the middle of the dinner without talking to each other, which added confusion. calamari was dry and tasteless and short rib pizza was extremely dry. other items were okay View all feedback.
The oysters were small and were not fucked, martini was full of ice when I was asked if parmesan would get a small paper cup with something in it. all the entrees were great, short Rib-Ravioli especially good.
We were on our way out of town and found this little gem along our way. Parking was free (nice change from downtown San Diego) and we were told it was about a 30minute wait. Wait time was far less and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant... the **** mary's looked so good; literally an entire meal was ontop!
The food was good, nothing over the top. I suggest you read what the meal comes with before making a decision on the side you want. Lots of potatoes! The Cali omelet included potato in it. I wish I would have chose the black beans instead of more potatoes on the side. The pizza was very good, might have been my favorite. The place is cute inside.
I like Farmers Table and have been here many times over the years. But eating dinner there last night for the first time in maybe 6 months or more, I was pretty disappointed. Ingredients for some of their signature drinks were out. They didn't have at least the one appetizer we wanted. My steak tartare looked and tasted partially cooked, not the beautiful red it should have been. It was also an odd texture. Service was good, and we generally enjoyed ourselves, but I'm not sure I'll rush back anytime soon.
The service is always slow here. the waitress was not very good to hear what we ordered. When she made something wrong, she gave us the blame. it was gone, but they let us sit on the table and chat one thing after eating so that it was good.
