Espace Baratte - La Malbaie

This restaurant is to say the least cosy, and you would be well advised to reserve in advance. The menu primarily features tapas that are simple but delicious, for example, sausage that is as good as any we have tasted, and tacos with a meat...filling that were exceptionally good, The beer and wine list was limited but well selected the"blonde beer of the Charlevoix Brasserie in Baie St. Paul was our favourite. Taking all factors into consideration harbour-view, good service, delicious food, and modest prices, Espace Baratte deserves a top rating.

We were looking for a light meal and followed the ratings and reviews to Espace Barette. The setting is very nice, on a quiet street overlooking the water. The condensed menu has variety and we both enjoyed our selections. The staff were understanding and accommodating...of our lack of French. There is an excellent antique shop upstairs if such is of interest. Definitely recommended for dinner and a river-side walk before or after.

We found this restaurant at the bottom of the hill below our Fairmont hotel. The food was excellent—wonderful tapas—and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. We are from Florida and speak English. Other restaurants we visited didn’t even try to speak with us but...they did! It was an excellent experience! Definitely try to find this!

We leave tomorrow and just found this gem today! Great view, very good food for reasonable prices, well priced beer and super cozy terrace! Don't leave it until the end of your vacation as we did ... but I'm sure we will be back for...another vacation to this beautiful area!

Well we stopped for tea and a snack and got a great surprise. They were closing but invited us in for tea and pie. Best lemon pie ever. Such great service. So friendly and welcoming.
