Contribute FeedbackMy husband and I spent two lovely days here. Couldn't fault it at all. The gardens are absolutely beautiful rooms beautifully clean . We dined in the restaurant on the Tuesday (shut the day we arrived). The meal was exquisite and excellent service. You can have drinks on the garden just lovely.
-Perfect location to wind down before a long drive from Paris to UK -parking and tesla charger 1-2 mins from the hotel -onsite restaurant offering excellent dinner and breakfast -quaint setting -friendly and accommodative staff (we were running quite late for dinner reservation and they waited for us)
We had a very good set lunch, worthy of a Michelin star, but the 2 wines we chose were both poor. The Macon Pierreclos 2014, was dull and bland, [ there are lots of far better ones on the market , so why is it on the list ? ] Worse was La Rose de Montviel 2010 which was completely cloudy, and whilst i would have sent it back, i was in the company of a regular who does not like 'fuss'.The sommelier should have seen the problem and whisked it away, so nul points to him .
The Chateau was very nice and welcoming.Gardens nice and relaxing The room was quaint as you would expect , very enjoyable The big disappointment was the food . From the uncomfortably affected head waiter to the dreadful lack of choice on the pppmenu A nice wholesome meal was expected but received pretentious offerings not worth the moneyI gave up a meal at the wonderful Darentel to eat here.We decided to eat at the Coq Hotel another favourite of ours and had a lovely mealTo sum up The Chateau is lovely to mooch around and relax ,staff are very good and helpful but would be a great to stay if they can sort out the food
