A quiet Wednesday evening in the quieter part of Fort Mahon but La Louviere is none the worse for that. The €35 blackboard menu had interesting local choices that did not include ubiquitous moules! Star was the meat cooked perfectly "au feu" on the chimney as you enter the restaurant. The cheese selection is local and completed a very good dinner. The wine list was small but well chosen. Below you can find the details of your reservation:Date Monday June 12Arrival time: 08:00 PM"We were very much looking forward to eating at La Louviere last night.
My husband and I went here on his birthday during a recent holiday in fort Mahon. The whole experience was wonderful and the food was delicious. My husbands seafood starter was spectacular and the local cheeses were delicious. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended
We arrived at 8.45pm without a booking but were warmly welcomed and served with politeness and gentle humour throughout. Regional menu and local dishes and produce.Very good value for interesting food well prepared. Saturday night so there was some gentle music and a chanteuse. Not intrusive, relaxing and added to the ambience. We'll be back
We had booked for 13.15 for a last holiday lunch treat and weren't disappointed. We had to ring to alert the restaurant we were 20 minutes late - 'No problem'. We chose the 37.50 menu but there are several cheaper options.Starters were both excellent; home-smoked sea trout, simply served with toast
We have been to this restaurant annually for 3 years now and never been disappointed. The food continues to be excellent value at the price, and it appears the decor and furniture have been upgraded also. The main dining area has a fresh open feel now and the place was full on a Wednesday evening - not been close to that in previous years and surely a tribute to a) quality and b) the power of trip advisor! We booked at lunchtime as we are a party of 7, and would recommend you do too if larger than a couple group-wise. The wine list is small but good quality value wise - we had the St Emilion and the Sancerre. There are comments on here regarding the service. We found it pleasant and appropriately timed. We weren't in a rush and the staff appear to believe in the idea that a meal is a social event for the diners rather than a fast food rush. It was never difficult to catch the waitresses eye if needed. Great place getting better, no issues, excellent food, will return.
We went to this restaurant on a trip through septmonts, so glad we did, the food, service and ambiance was the best.
