Amazing food...But as always can be a bit of a line!!! either way...I highly recommend this place.... we love it!!!!!
I was hoping to have some Soju again, as that was my drink of choice last time, but they now have a new drink menu (at least compared to what I remember). Many of the alcoholic options seem more refined, and the bartenders take their time crafting each cocktail, almost as if they want you to savor the drink rather than just get intoxicated. They add a shot of this, a squeeze of orange peel there, and a hint of mint somewhere else. It was fun to watch! I ordered the El Diablo, which was a fruity tequila concoction. I liked it, though it was a bit too tart for my liking. But hey, it did the job—which is what really matters, right? Oh, and I loved the oversized square ice cubes they use! They also have beers on tap; my date went for two IPAs. The service was friendly, and everyone working there seemed to be between 21 and 30 years old, which made it easy to strike up conversations. On Fridays, they have a DJ who seems to just play a shuffled playlist, which adds to the vibe. The decor is stylish and trendy, with pink Christmas lights draped around the bar and dim lighting throughout. However, parking is a nightmare! Unfortunately, that's just the reality in Convoy. They do have a few parking spots in the back, but please don’t drink and drive—not only for your safety, but also because the parking spaces can be a bit tight. Given that there can be challenges with driving and parking, it's wise to avoid mixing alcohol into the equation. And please, don't hit my car! I'm sure they have food, but I haven’t tried any yet, though I plan to in the future.
The service was excellent, and Anthony, the head chef, is a really cool guy! He came over to talk to us during our meal and explained everything that went into our dishes, as well as the inspiration behind them. My drunk noodle dish was outstanding! I've tried this dish many times before, but never with a mole-infused sauce like this one. The gyoza was a hit for me, too! I had mushroom gyoza, which Anthony mentioned is just the beginning of what great gyoza should be. The prices are reasonable, the service was good, and the food was both delicious and served quickly. While it might not be the absolute best I've ever had, it definitely stands out as genuinely unique!
Our table decided to share a variety of plates and appetizers. We ordered the bulgogi fries—definitely a must-try! The portion was enormous and included tater tots, regular fries, and curly fries, all with a delightful Cajun seasoning. We also enjoyed the beef pad thai, chicken wings, lao jerky, and bibimbap. Everything was fantastic, particularly the jerky and bibimbap. The jerky came with a delicious sweet and sour dipping sauce, and the bibimbap was served on a hot plate that continued to cook as we ate. SOHO also boasts a wide selection of local craft beers on tap, ensuring there's something for everyone. It's a perfect spot for happy hour, watching a game with a beer, or a date night. Our waitress mentioned that it really gets lively after 10 PM on Fridays with a DJ spinning tunes. Our group of four enjoyed plenty of food and multiple drinks for under $30 per person, including tip. I can definitely see myself returning to SOHO sooner rather than later!
I'm so glad that I cam here with some friends. I've heard about this place from other yelpers because we attempted to stop by here for a drink but they were close when we arrived. Mondays Finally stopped by here after we ate at another restaurant for a quick night cap. I wish we ate here instead. : The menu looked really good and I'm glad that we did get to taste the sticky rice and lao jerky. The sticky rice as on point and it went so well with the lao jerky. Great in flavor and not tough like some other jerkys. Our servers' name was Doris and she was so pleasant, helpful and nice. She gave us the background of the restaurants name SOHO. And no, the name SOHO has no relation to New York City. My friends all come here to drink from time to time and they love the atmosphere and vibe. There's also a DJ on the weekends. : That's a plus. I only hangout with friends who drink-LOL Definitely a place to return to and check out the weekend fun but most especially a place to return to eat some delicious food.
