Nine-ten - La Jolla
Nine-ten
Description
Nine-Ten is a popular choice for dining in La Jolla, with many patrons praising the chef's innovative and delicious dishes. The Mercy of the Chef menu received mixed reviews, with some courses being outstanding and others just okay. However, the restaurant's rich and intense flavors were well-appreciated by many customers. While some diners found the noise level to be overwhelming, others enjoyed the knowledgeable servers and well-paced meal. The restaurant offers excellent service and an extensive wine list, making it a reliable choice for a special occasion. Despite some minor drawbacks, Nine-Ten remains a top dining destination in San Diego.

If you're looking for new eats like duck or lamb done right, or a fine dining experience, NINE-TEN is the perfect place to broaden your horizons. Everything was plated beautifully. The staff were wonderful- so grateful for the recommendations! Will definitely be returning when we visit La Jolla again.
Best restaurant in La Jolla! Allows reservations even on Sundays. Plenty of tables available. Not close together. Consistently great food over several years. Fast service after ordering. Highly trained staff. Very cordial. Not difficult to park close on nearby streets for free. Just slightly beyond and out of reach of the very crowded part of Prospect Ave. Prices are no higher than the long wait line places. Very reasonable.
Nine-Ten is always a treat! Proteins tend to be the same on each menu but preparation is always innovative and varied. This time, lamb loin and ahi tuna both delicious. Presentation beautiful and service attentive. And can’t beat the half-price wines on Wednesday. Had looked forward to dining on the Terrace on lovely evening, but all tables were in the sun with no umbrellas- disappointing.
Came here for the tasting menu for our wedding anniversary. Just visiting here in San Diego for a couple of months and we usually like to try out tasting menus in different places. For the price per head, the food didn 't really live up to ourexpectations. It was good, but not that creative, and didn 't feel like an experience so much. We 've had $50/head tasting menusin NYC that were so much better. Service was great though, and the staff was really friendly.
I had heard about this restaurant multiple times and was finally able to check it out. You definitely need a reservation even in the middle of the week because the restaurant isn't exceptionally large and it's popular. The inside was classically designedand elegant. Service was excellent, and we happen to go on Wednesday when bottles of wine are half price. We decided to go witha bottle, and we ordered the duck and the striped bass for our entrees. We also got the tuna crudo which was incredible, as wellas the Napoletano dessert which was top five desserts I've ever had at a restaurant. It had an incredible blend of textures andflavors that wasn't too sweet but incredibly dynamic and unique. Absolutely go again. With the appetizer, to entrees and adessert plus a half-price bottle of wine, after tip it was around $215 for two of us. Well worth it.
