This was our first visit to this restaurant and it was truly perfect! Sushi is one of my favorite meals that I like to indulge in from time to time. Maigo Sushi did not disappoint. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Meiga Sushi:
I placed an order through Yelp but it was later canceled without any explanation. It was not a good experience. I was told to wait an hour for someone else to fulfill the order. View all feedback.
The restaurant was empty so we ended up getting our food to go. They offer an all-you-can-eat special. I would rate the food 4 out of 5.
The nigiri had a strong fishy smell, suggesting that the fish was not fresh. The rolls with sauce were overly saturated and had a strange taste, possibly due to the sauce being left out for too long. One of the nigiris, Masago, was particularly off-putting in flavor, prompting us to raise our concerns with the waiter/chef. We suspected that it may have been expired or stored improperly, but never received clarification from the waiter. Not only was the fish not fresh, but the seaweed used in the handrolls was also stale. Normally, fresh seaweed would be crunchy, but the seaweed in our handrolls was soggy, indicating that it had been left out for too long.
I just went here on Saturday for lunch and their fish was not fresh at all. I had to send a plate of nigiri back then just ate a vegetable tempura roll which was ok. It was honestly the worst sushi experience I’ve ever had. I usually don’t write reviews, but it was really bad.
Came here with my family on a weekend for lunch and to my surprise, the restaurant was empty! We did the ayce and everything was really good. The nigiri rice portions were small too ?For unagi lovers—this is the first ayce aushi I’ve been to that limits one order of unagi nigiri (2 pieces) per person. Not a deal breaker though since you can get rolls with unagi in it. Bluefin tuna is also limited to one order per person and that one was superb.
I wanted to take my girlfriend to Ca AYCE sushi, but we were closer to La Habra than other cities in Orange County. They have a good selection of sushi, although some items listed on the paper slip were not on the picture menu, making it difficult to know what you are ordering. The no rice rolls are wrapped in rice paper and filled with a generous amount of crab meat, which was quite filling. We had trouble finishing our orders, but we were aware of the leftover rule. The staff was very attentive to our needs and even returned a phone we had left behind after we left. However, the price was a bit high at almost $40 per person, nearly double what another sushi restaurant charged a few years ago. Parking is available in an outdoor parking lot, but the entrance to the lot from the main street can be easy to miss.
