I purchased a root beer growler on Thursday night and placed it in the mini refrigerator in my hotel room. When I woke up Saturday morning, I discovered that the root beer had frozen and the glass had shattered. I have loved the Pearl for my whole life. But three separate times in a row my order is lost or something. Today I watched 11 people order and then get malts and cones and everything else before us. When we mentioned this, we were told that we are in line and they’ll get to it. 2 minute wait for everyone and 15 minutes for us at the front. Beer was good. Cool atmosphere. Nice and simple place to have a beer
I have loved the Pearl for my whole life. But three separate times in a row my order is lost or something. Today I watched 11 people order and then get malts and cones and everything else before us. When we mentioned this, we were told that we are in line and they’ll get to it. 2 minute wait for everyone and 15 minutes for us at the front. I’m not mad for waiting, I’m disappointed at the lack of communication and coordination multiple times now.

Additionally, the growler I bought on Friday afternoon had its cap blown off and was partially frozen, resulting in root beer spilled all over the shelf and floor. The manager at Turtle Stack was incredibly kind; she filled up the unbroken growler and replaced the broken one at no charge. I’m truly grateful for her generosity. The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. This place is definitely worth a visit!
Great selection of craft beer and friendly bartenders. Good prices too. I enjoyed reading here while having a few beers.
Turtle Stack Brewery is a fantastic name for a riverside brewery. Nestled in downtown La Crosse, it’s conveniently accessible if you're out bar hopping, enjoying Oktoberfest, or attending a conference. Though it’s a small venue, it offers a cozy atmosphere. The service is friendly, even during busy periods. They brew a diverse range of beers; during my last visit, I tried their Golden Ale, Session, Belgian Blonde, Imperial ESB, Brown, NEIPA, IPA, Coconut Porter, and Doppelbock. If you find yourself in downtown La Crosse, be sure to add this local brewery to your itinerary!
