This is a charming little bar located on the north side of La Crosse. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The drinks are perfectly balanced—not too strong and not too weak, which is an impressive feat. The bartenders are friendly and respectful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I was really excited to try this place after seeing all the reviews. However, both experiences I have had here have been pretty mediocre. The burgers were pretty good, but nothing special.The mini tacos, buyer beware--I received just a few tortilla chips that were rolled around ground beef. I'm still coming to Sunday breakfast. matt is a great cook. if they are lucky, he will be eier benedikt on special. homemade sausage value and biscuits of scratches. you will not have starving. the best breakfast in the city.
The atmosphere is fantastic, and the bartenders and cooks are excellent. I've dined there for both breakfast and dinner, and I've always been extremely pleased with the food, especially considering the great prices. The drink prices are reasonable, and all the cocktails are crafted very well.
Went here to hear a friend's band. Enjoyed their music. The food is typical Wisconsin bar food. My burger with onion rings was good. My wife's grilled chicken sandwich was just okay. Good price on Spotted Cow, $3 on tap. Also, reasonable priced food. I did not like the smoke drifting in from the outside. I would go back to hear my friend's band.
