What Corvo Attano doesn't like about Black Forest Bistro:
I received the pasta bolognese from a family member and was pretty underwhelmed by the portion size. The dish was mediocre in flavor( sauce mainly). My recommendation would be not to order something like this from a mainly German restaurant. But notbeing a fan of German food, I tried something else on their menu. No disrespect in any way by the opinion. I just thoughtspaghetti and a simple sauce would come with a dec... View all feedback.
The flavors are vibrant, and the tenderness of the meat is exquisite, with each dish perfectly harmonizing together. The picture I've linked features their schweinshoxn, which is undoubtedly one of the best items on their menu—even though it's not always available. This dish boasts a deliciously crispy exterior that's seared to perfection, locking in the meat's juices and flavors as it cooks. When you take a bite, the delightful crunch of the skin gives way to a beautifully cooked, juicy interior that practically falls off the bone. Paired with freshly made pasta and drizzled with gravy crafted from the meat's own juices, this dish is worth returning for time and again. While I've sung the praises of this particular plate, I must emphasize that the rest of the menu offers equally exceptional quality, making it memorable and worth a visit. With friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere, and reasonable prices, Black Forest Bistro has become my new go-to dining spot in La Crosse.
I received the pasta bolognese from a family member and was pretty disappointed with the portion size. The dish was underwhelming in flavor, particularly the sauce. I would suggest avoiding pasta dishes at a primarily German restaurant. However, since I'm not a fan of German cuisine, I decided to try something else from their menu. I mean no disrespect with this opinion; I simply expected a decent portion of spaghetti and a simple sauce for the price. I'll consider trying something different next time, if there is a next time.
After a long and busy day of shopping in La Crosse, we decided to stop by this restaurant. Our server was wonderful—kind, attentive, and truly fantastic! The food was delicious, and the hazelnut raspberry cupcake was simply incredible. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. We definitely plan to return more often!
We've been looking for a good German restaurant since our vacation to Austria. It's been a five year search, and we're grateful to have found BFB. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional: quality, taste, authenticity and service. We will bereturning during our next visit to Wisconsin.
We were driving from Wisconsin to MN, and needed a place for lunch that was near the highway. Out server was the sweetest! We were served promptly and our drinks came out super fast. I?m a vegetarian so I got the grilled chicken salad (minus thechicken , and when it was brought out it had extra avocado on it (without my asking , since I didn?t get chicken, which was sonice!!!! The food was delicious! We each got a dumpling (both yummy , and the spätzle (sp? . All the food was delicious andthe service was wonderful! Got a raspberry cupcake to go and it is quite delectable. Would definitely go again if I am in thearea!
