We happened on the Hotel Mavi and in... read more Had were staying at the Hotel Sara D UR which is about 300m away but they only serve food on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We happened on the Hotel Mavi and in honesty wish we had stayed there. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful helping me with my poor Spanish. As my wife is vegetarian there was nothing suitable on offer but the waitress asked her what she would like and had it prepared specially for her. The food is good quality and inexpensive, the Menu del Dia is 10.50 Euros and a bottle of white wine 10 Euros, really good value for money with great friendly service.

We had arranged to meet a couple from 'b... read more While travelling through the area heading towards the Costa Blanca via Madrid, we overnighted in a nearby caravan site. We had arranged to meet a couple from 'back home ' for dinner, the Mavi was recommended to us, by the folks on the Camping Caravan site. It wad a 'Public Holiday ' the place was not so busy ... The Restaurant did not begin serving dinner until 20:30hrs so we had some aperitifs in the bar until that time. 'Menu for the day special ' was adequate with reasonable choices of courses.. soup was wholesome delicious, My wife I had pork patatas again this was delicious, our friends had a lovely omelette patatas A large selection of desserts is on offer topped off with 'caffe Solo '.. Service was pretty good the young Guy coped well with our 'Non Spanish ' communications!!!

We ordered menu del día , my mother said it was the best eggplant she ever had, pastel de berenjena , it was so goos she asked for the recipe. and when we arrived home she asked me if I remember this place! of course! the staff was very kind, polite, and helpful, really great, if I have to make a stop I will definetly will visit you again, and I am sure my mother will try to make the pastel de berenjenas , thanks for the recipe!
