Amazing spot to get omakase sushi at a reasonable price at $35ish CAD per person. This spot is extremely popular with the locals and we had to wait in line before it even opened to get a spot at the counter. There are about 10 spots at the counter and a few booth seats, easier to get a spot with parties of 2 or less for the counter. A lot of elderly japanese locals were there right at 5pm and few friendly english speaking ones were there when I went and raved about this place. The food was fresh and honestly the best I had in Kyoto. Would definitely recommend to others! The chef was friendly but spoke limited English but that didn't affect the experience. I would come back in a heart beat!
Beautiful selection of beautiful, well made sushi. they had an English menu and we got free tea and a little dessert. personal was very friendly and professional

We had an amazing experience at Sushi Sei. We got there not long after they opened on a Friday night and got seats at the bar area. Theee was an English menu and the staff were very friendly. Once we ordered the food all came very quickly and was absolutely delicious. It was easy to order more so don't feel like you have to decide on everything straight away! The food was great and it was really cool seeing it prepares in front of us. We particularly enjoy the sashimi selection option but the chefs choice also looked great!
