Delicious steak. Ordered the murasawa beef steak for about 6400 yen. Probably a must try at least once. Food comes with salad, rice, and some veggie sides. Interiors and exteriors were awesome. What a carefully planned layout. I like the placement of the small window as it ensures privacy, but you get to see something and not just a wall. There was no queue when I went here as there were few tourists due to the virus scare.
Such amazing steaks at this place, definite the best I've tasted so far but I only got Hawksmoor in London to compare to this. We tried the top A5 rated steak with the A4 steak. Both were delicious, so was the flat iron we ordered to share. As other have mention, it's a good idea to come early and put your name down and come back when it's opening time. If you are not back when you are about to be called then you go to the back of the queue.
I was here before in year 2018. Their A5 Wagyu Sirloin steak is awesome! Meltz in the mouth! And i went back recently to their new shop and their steak is still so good! Hopefully they will maintain their standard and keep going!
Highly recommended if you like beef. I recommend getting there at 9am or earlier to ensure you have your name down for the first wave of seating. Plenty of things to do until they open at 11am (bamboo forest, hiking etc). You will also beat the crowds if you go early to the bamboo forest so it's a win win. As for the food, it is amazing value if you want to try A5 wagyu (5700 yen). The most expensive one (6200 yen) is usually sold out but the Hirai A5 is still great. My wife liked the leaner stuff more so even if fatty marbled beef doesn't interest you they still do a great flat iron steak 2500ish yen. The app we got was also great. Cannot go wrong eatting here. Not too many seats and you will likely share a table or be at the counter but still plenty of room with a no rush feeling. Line was super long when we left.
Amazing steak for a very reasonable price! We ordered the A5 Wagyu, Kalbi set, and Prime Rib set A. The wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth tender and worth every penny. The kalbi was also very flavorful and tender. The prime rib wasn’t my favorite (it was served quite cold and had more of a “steak sauce” taste to it). But overall the meat was cooked very well and we greatly enjoyed the meal! As for logistics, arrived at the restaurant at 8am to leave our name on the sign-in sheet outside the restaurant and then spent the rest of the morning until 11am touring Arayishama. Since the restaurant is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, it was no inconvenience for us to drop by the restaurant first. Luckily, we were the first on the list and were seated immediately at 11. The restaurant was decently busy at 11 so I would recommend arriving early in the morning like us to write your name down!
