I am not vegetarian but I love local fresh food so I gave this place a try. And what I had was delicious! I had the (veggie) burger with blue cheese and mushrooms over greens. The burger itself was packed with flavor and let me feelingfull but not too full like some restaurant food does. The mushrooms were perfect with the tangy blue cheese and the greens wereas fresh as the ones I pick from my garden! I also tried the oat milk soft serve and was surprised how creamy it was! It was arefreshing treat on a hot day and I enjoyed the hints of flavor from the oat milk and other protein rich ingredients. Theystaff were super friendly and the atmosphere is adorable. I will definitely be back!

They indicated they were pressing their own concoction fresh, although I had not seen it on the menu. It wasa basic blend containing among other things apples, celery, beets and carrots. Sounded good enough. 2 16 oz cups,$21.20...hmmmm... The rest of the menu looked pretty reasonable so this caught me a little off guard. I then watched the serverprep everything, without gloves and after just handling my cash to be fair I am not sure if she had an opportunity to wash ornot as she was out of eyesight for a moment. I also watched her cut up an apple, with the label still on and juice it just likethat.

Even with all the world's cuisine at our doorstep in NY, we've not found a place that comes close toHive. All high quality, local, sustainable ingredients. Paul and Robin are the two nicest humans on the planet and alwaysremember us by name and welcome us with open arms (and treats)! Service from them and the rest of the staff is top notch. Cannotsay enough good things about this place. It's nice to find a place that cares about where their food comes from in addition totaking the time to get to know everyone who passes through. You cannot go wrong with the Hive Burger and the Vegan Mac nCheese. Add a house brewed kefir pop on tap trust us, you won't regret it!

However, there is a parking lot s... read more This hidden gem is tucked away in the alleys behind the movie theater in Kutztown, making it a bit difficult to find at first. However, there is a parking lot shared with a dance studio for Hive customers. My daughter and I appreciated the variety of options available at this restaurant, especially since it caters to the vegetarian and vegan community. (Although my daughter still opted for the Mac and cheese.) It was a relief to leave feeling satisfied, rather than still hungry.
