Stella has a great team running the place. It’s quite spacious, which gives it a nice open feel. The beer is cold, and the view of the trees and the road is fantastic. However, the furniture and decor could use a bit more attention—perhaps a fresh coat of paint, some plants, and better lighting would help, but that’s just my opinion. The food selection is limited, and I haven’t eaten there yet, so my review may change after I do. Overall, I really like this pub and plan to return. Price per person: A$20–40.
I had a wonderful journey to the village! Thanks to the company I booked with, my carriage was less crowded compared to others I observed. While the seats aren’t the most comfortable, the train is historic—likely the oldest in operation in the entire country! It takes you past all the beautiful sights, making stops and slowing down at various points of interest. The staff were incredibly friendly, enhancing the overall experience. I highly recommend this if you’re visiting Kuranda!
The seats and cabins were quite uncomfortable and uncomfortably warm, making the ride less enjoyable. However, the views were absolutely stunning, and the intercom provided an engaging narrative about the history of the railroad, which was a nice touch. We made a 10-minute stop to take in the sight of a magnificent waterfall, which was really impressive. On a downside, my nephew wasn't allowed to stay in his car seat for safety reasons, which seemed a bit unreasonable.
