The Gallery Japanese Cafe - Kumeu

One of our favourite places in Kumeu, good for a tasty bit of breakfast or a reliable place for a dinner after work. And do admire the photography on show.

Love love this restaurant! The lady (who I believe owns the place) is the loveliest, friendly person. The food is always fresh, is beautifully presented and tastes great!

My partner and I had the eggs Benedict, surprisingly good hollandaise. Big potions. Well poached eggs. And there was spinach under the bacon which I love, gives it all balance. Good coffee too. Would come back to try other stuff.

My family visits The Gallery pretty often mostly for takeout, and the owners know us fairly well. We usually get the same thing every visit and it’s great every time sometimes we even get some extra chicken. The sushi is great as well. I can’t speak for the cafe side of the menu, but having tried the Japanese food I can safely assume that it’ll be tasty as well. Charlie shows off his amazing photography and some vintage cameras he’s collected and it makes for fantastic decoration. Both the owners are truly lovely people and I highly recommend the food.

Such a lovely dining environment, I went here for dinner and the lady was so welcoming. I had the katsu bento box , it had so many flavours! The miso soup was so yummy! Highly recommend giving this place a try.
