The restaurant is typical of small family-run places in Germany, a bar-like setting up front, and a small seating area in the rear. The food is amazing, prepared fresh and served with wonderful charm. The prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality, but it is not a bargain meal. I recommend walking the markt and taking time for a nice traditional German dinner here. View all feedback.
I had a dinner with friends on our first day in Cologne and we were all happy with their food. I ordered a schnitzel with mushroom which comes with mashed potatoes and salad but I asked the waitress whether I could have some cooked vegetables instead of the mashed potatoes and she told me it was fine. The restaurant was crowded with patrons and we enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere sitting outside enjoying the breeze in the restaurant. It took quite some time before we got our food but I think it's because the restaurant is packed so the service is a bit slow. Our foods were delicious! All of us truly enjoyed our meal heartily. The food portion was huge but we managed to clear the plates to spit and span. I had a cup of hot chocolate which was just fine, but my friend really enjoyed his beer and I heard that they serve best beer too. It's a restaurant I'll definitely go back if I visit cologne again.

Centrally located offering a good choice menu at reasonable prices. We had ruml steaks which were excellently cooked with a delicious peppersauce. Our daughter had baked tortellini with cheese. The staff were very courteous and we loved the service. Would definately visit again while in Cologne.
We needed a full meal before our train journey back to London so chose here as it offered full meals, as well as lighter snacks. At first we were unsure, as we were the only ones seated inside, but soon more people arrived outside. All I can say, is Wow!! Thankfully we stayed. The food was delicious. Our dishes both came with a side salad, which for once, did not consist of half a tomato and a few lettuce leaves, but was a full on proper salad and nearly a meal in it's own right!!We were too stuffed for desert, but did end with a coffee, which again, was a proper, full sized delicious coffee!!The staff were approachable and friendly. A menu was provided in English, although I ended up ordering in German and got what I asked for. Phew!!Conveniently located, not too far from the Heumarkt tram stop and about a 10 minute walk from the Dom and Hauptbahnhof.
Centrally located on the corner of the platz in old town Cologne, this restaurant offers a wide range of delicious reasonably priced meals as well as coffees and of course Kolsch!Excellent asparagus, lightly coated schnitzels and many other delisious dishes... You will not go away unsatisfied!
