Typical prices compared to other restaurants in Alpbach. Typical Austrian menu. Recommend.

P... read more The amount of points given on TripAdvisor was the mark we expected, but it was far from even being close. Although the food wasn’t bad, it wasn’t good either. Plain, cheap and without any vegetables. Plates were handed over over the railing, passion was far...to be found. When asked for a service good like mayonnaise, you had to pay extra. Ridiculous. Won’t see us anymore.

We sat outside, meaning the Waiter would have to walk further to reach our table h... read more Essentially not a bad restaurant, if you accept they have a relaxed attitude. We sat outside, meaning the Waiter would have to walk further to reach our table however could pass small things like the menu and plate with cutlery on through a railing...to us directly. Frankly, this doesn‘t really bother me. However, there were only 3 of us, and they got 2 orders wrong The waiter didn’t write anything down a recipe for mistakes in my experience. I asked for my main course with chips instead of boiled potatoes I was prepared to pay the 50 cent charge to change a side oder. However it came with boiled potatoes probably healthier, so I ate them . My son asked for ketchup, which did come, but only after asking again and my wife ordered a pudding, along with those for my son and I, and that never came though to be fair they did then give her her 3rd glass of wine for nothing as compensation. The food was ok very much in line with what you would expect portions certainly big enough. I did see the waiter smoking inside, behind the bar, which disappointed me more than surprised me the Austrians haven‘t seemed to realise that most of Europe has banned that. Would I go back probably, as it‘s easy, choice of Austrian food or Pizza, and I‘m not sure you would get anything significantly better for the same sort of money.
