Reservations are necessary, but we have been able to walk in and still get served. That said, I recommend following the reservation policy to ensure a pleasant experience. Like many places, they have staffing challenges, especially during peak hours—which is common in Kotzebue as well. Fortunately, we rarely waited longer than our reserved time. The staff has consistently been friendly and accommodating. The dining room boasts views of the water from several angles, and on occasion, you might even see seals frolicking nearby. It’s certainly the only nice sit-down restaurant in the village. However, if you’re hoping to enjoy a cocktail or wine with your meal, you won’t find that in Kotzebue unless you dine at home, as there are no alcohol sales in restaurants or stores, except for the one liquor store. Just a heads-up: you need to purchase a license to buy alcohol.
Of the limited amount of places to go in Kotzebue, this is by far my favorite one. If you want a nice date night, this is the only option. The Sunday brunch starts at 10am and costs $20/person. Bang for you buck is best. They have a decent spread that includes a small salad bar, soup, BACON, sausage, fried chicken, and more. Wont get sick after eating here.
