The nicest restaurant in Kotzebue. I had the Reindeer cheeseburger and fries. The Reindeer on this burger tasted like a regular lower 48 burger. I hear Reindeer is a mix of Caribou and beef, so a pure Caribou Burger would be different. Those weren't offered here. The fries were close to the best in town. The Mango Smoothie was delicious. I was dining with a party of 12, and everyone was happy with their order. The wait service was a bit slow, but they were kind. We were seated in the glassed in private room off the main dining area. The view of the ocean was delightful! It was a great evening!

I highly... read more The hotel and restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend the hotel for its outstanding service and the clean, comfortable rooms. We faced some travel issues due to the weather, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and supportive to us while we were far from home (in Ohio). The restaurant provided a lovely sit-down dinner with a view that was hard to beat. Looking out at the Arctic Ocean with majestic mountains across the bay was truly stunning. We enjoyed three dinners during our stay. I tried the bacon cheeseburger, reindeer with gravy, and the Denali burger, and each dish was fantastic. It was such a pleasure to unwind with dinner after a long day. A big shout-out to the staff for their excellent service!

I didn't expect to see food from my Southern childhood above the Arctic Circle! It was a great salad, but was overshadowed by the blueberry cobbler. Omg. It was subtly sweet rather than overwhelming like most cobblers, and very ooey gooey! Highly, highly recommend it.

You could do a lot worse, but I 'd recommend waking the 1,000 ft from your hotel over to Bayside. If, say, you 've got an early flight over to the bush on Ravn and want to eat before hand: this is your only place. They open at 6:30am, earliest in town. (Bayside opens at 7am, FYI) The food is alright. It 's a breakfast buffet. The food is like what you 'd find at a really nice free continental breakfast, except it 's not free. However, you can request a fresh omelet, and they will make it for you. For free. This is what you should probably do. They also have a fruit salad. It 's OK. It 's more of a melon salad though, as 95% of the fruit in it is cantaloupe and honeydew. This is probably most fruit salads suffer from, though. The views and the furnishings are top-notch though, probably the nicest in town. You almost feel like you 're on the bridge of a spaceship.

The first night I had the beef curry soup with berry cobbler for desert, the next night I had the chocolate cake, a delicious dark chocolate. The service was great, waitstaff are always very pleasant and attentive. I love the ambiance and the views from the window is nothing short of spectacular.
