Make sure to visit Bind Cafe, which shares its space with a bookstore, for a truly unique experience! Don’t hesitate to head to the back for cafe service, where you can check out the menu and ring the bell for assistance. Since all the food is made from scratch, service may take a bit longer, but you can use that time to explore this lovely community space. The coffee is freshly ground and brewed by the cup, ensuring a delicious taste. Before you leave, there’s a bin available for you to clean up your plates and cups. Enjoy your visit!
This restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind and a local gem! While you wait for your amazing food or drink to be prepared fresh, you can explore the store area filled with a diverse selection of multicultural books. With their rotating menu featuring dishes from various countries, you can return each month for a completely new experience! It's a fantastic spot if you want to support a local business!
The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Each month features intriguing combinations of dishes from a different country. The vegetarian options are greatly appreciated. I love the unique and diverse community vibe along with the delicious food!
However, the café offers much more than just food and drink. It's a community hub that focuses on preserving and sharing the often-overlooked history of Black residents in Kokomo. It's a place to find conscious literature and works by Black authors that are hard to come by elsewhere in the area, to engage in language exchange, and to attend events that expand both minds and perspectives. The café also showcases and supports Black artists, confidently establishing a welcoming presence in the square with a spirit of generosity and pride. On more casual days, you can relax, play board games, browse interesting materials, or meet new people. This establishment deserves our support—Kokomo truly needs Bind Cafe.
The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming; having a conversation with her makes me seriously consider moving to the area. We just popped in to explore the café, so I can't speak to the coffee itself, but I really appreciate her commitment to ethical sourcing, and it definitely had a delicious aroma!
