The Ristorante Pastatoni, whose owner and leader is a Turkish citizen, has preserved the ambience in a simple old-fashioned design. I was just wandering around this busy Velnoer Street in Ehrenfeld and saw the specials sign outside this little Italian restaurant, I could see the woodfired oven in the middle, so decided to hop in. I was not disappointed. The friendly server helped me with...the menu, the chef came from the kitchen to the oven and I went for a nice antipasto and a special pizza for the day baked right in the woodfired oven, so the crust is light and crispy. This was a Saturday lunch time with a few customers, it has a nice ambiance, good and friendly service. It is very much a family restaurant with very good food

Running short on time I popped into Pastatoni before attending a gig at the nearby Musik Hall. The decor is modest and a little tired but the service was polite and friendly, and the food delicious and excellent value for money. I would say the Pastatoni is a good choice for couples, individuals or groups who are looking for decent food without breaking the bank.
