Really big disappointment!!!!! Too much oil in the pizza made it so fatty and raw tomatoes on the top wasn't a good combination with the truffle! Their tuna salad was like a supermarket salad with extra corns! Also our table hasn't been cleaned properly !!!!!! On the positive side, the staff and specially our waiter was so polite and nice.

The antipasti, for example, contained potatoes, which felt untraditional. Overall the funghi and spinaci pizzas were good, as well as the veg antipasto. We got the house wines. The red was way too warm, but the white was decent. Very nice and accommodating staff. If you know a little German, you'll be fine.

I've... read more Best pizza that I've personally had in Germany. Let me preface this by saying that I've been sorely disappointed with the pizza offerings here in Cologne. I've ordered pizza and also visited several Italian restaurants and was often underwhelmed- cold cheese, cardboard thin crust, unflavorful sauce. Friends of mine have expressed similar opinions/laments at the pizza here in Cologne. (For those who disagree, please recommend me some more good places, as a good pizza is very hard to find! Colleagues and I spontaneously decided to visit this restaurant while passing by. I was not very impressed with the atmosphere, restaurant was fairly empty midday and the stairs leading into the bathroom reminded me of a dungeon. HOWEVER, as our food was brought to our table, there were more than a few pleasantly surprised faces as the presentation of the food looked impressive and exceeded our expectations. I ordered the Bianca pizza- fresh mozzarella, Ricotta, and tomatoes- and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly flavored sauce and crust, delicious cheeses, and piping hot. I ordered the Primavera pizza to take home to the hubby, which was also quite delicious- fresh parmiggiano, arugula, and salty cured proscuitto. I thought about the pizza all weekend so stopped by again today for another carry-out (takeaway order. So happy for coincidentally stumbling across this place to satisfy my cravings for authentic, fresh, European pizza. Hoping for more pleasant surprises like this in the future.

This is my third visit to this establishment and the pizza gets better every time, even after the 300 km drive from central Germany. I usually have the Pizza Bufalina and it is delicious. The secret is in the sauce. They use plenty of herbs and spices, so the sauce has flavor. This last time, the crust was thinner and crispier than the first, which is a big plus for me. The restaurant is a bit outside of Zentrum, but worth the hike. Order at the counter and pay after you eat. Make sure you read the specials that flank both sides of the door. Something delicious may be calling your name. Definitely recommend!
