What drags the... read more I've been to L'ambiente several times as it is close to home. The food is good and reasonably priced, the service is friendly and child-friendly. What drags the restaurant down is the decor inside needs a makeover, and on the terrace you get the...impression that you're in a car park. OK for a dinner with the kids, but not my idea for a romantic meal.

It's another thing to eat in an ambience coupled with an attentive service - something that is not so easy to find. We enjoyed a lunchtime meal that resulted in a prolonged stay - where do you get that kind of opportunity nowadays? So good that I felt I had to ask if we had overextended our stay? No...happy guests are welcome and a drink on the house as a sign of our appreciation? Go there, enjoy, stay, drink, chat and partake of the excellent service - you won"t regret it!
