We wanted to order wine, but the waiter was completely unfamiliar and didn't even bother to make any further effort. The food selection is very good, but the value for money is absolutely not there. The food is very basic and the portions are very small for the price. So, we're very willing to pay for good quality, but that's not the case here. The pork fillet skewer was gristly and sinewy, and that's not a fillet. Oven-roasted lamb with rice noodles for €23.90 with exactly five small pieces of lamb, honestly??? If you want to enjoy a cozy evening with a wine (surprise, whether dry, semi-sweet, or sweet) and a few olives, then it's fine. But if you want to eat well for your money, you should choose something else.

The ambience is pleasant, even if it can be a bit louder with a full house. If you are in Cologne, the Tavern Jamas is definitely one of the visits you cannot leave!
