What Siegmar Menzel doesn't like about Hanse Stube:
all the dishes look very good and sexy, but the taste is only mostly not there. aubergine with mushrooms I had for the starter was too salty. as the second starter, only the other species and wise round the spicy are completely missing. pralines you get. Arrived for our table and told they didn’t know when it would be free. The waiter said ‘45mins but I can’t promise’. He was so rude and shoed ya out.
Had a great Dinner with my colleagues during the Anuga Fair. Service was excellent and Food superb. would highly recommend this place when in Cologne.
Had a dinner with some friends, which cannot be considered bad, but left me a bitter taste as I was expecting to have a premium dinner. The service was decent, but the food was lacking. The choice was limited for a restaurant of this kind...of standing; that would not be a problem if the available dishes would reflect the price requested. The truffle risotto was not bad at all, rather enjoyable, but nothing particular. The venison saddle was very standard; cannot say the meat wasn’t of good quality, but the dish had a very poor feeling, for sure not worth almost 50 eur. I never minded paying high prices for worthy restaurants, and I have visited many around the world; Hans Stube at the moment, just cannot afford such a high praise and the relative prices that come with it.
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and the service was quite good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic German cuisine.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere this place checked all the boxes. Started off with oysters which were outstanding. Then had a buffalo mozzarella salad which was also delicious. Wife and I each had a risotto I had fish and she had vegetable....Both were great. Finished it off with creme brûlée and some chocolates. All fantastic! Highly recommend if you get a chance to go here.
