It was my Nth time in Cologne but I've never actually eaten in a German restaurant even once here before so tagging a friend along, and letting him decide what to have for dinner was definitely a good idea. Did a quick tripadvisor research on the best German restaurants in the area and we found ourselves having dinner at this restaurant. We asked for the waiter's recommendation and we were presented with two big piec... View all feedback.

Having dined here last night 04/08 and having a great meal we returned tonight 05/08. After 2 hours we are still sat here waiting for our main course. Table booked for 19:30. Got seated late and then waited nearly an hour for starters. A further hour for main. Shame as staff are great, but not best level of service from kitchen. View all feedback.
It is amazing how sometimes, some people feel they had a terrible experience at a where others get a best impression. I guess it may be luck at play, mood, or a diferent perspective. Our expectations were exeeded at this restaurant. We were greeted warmly,...seated at a convenient table outside, served in a timely manner and attended to with frendly jokes and service. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere was extremelly pleasant and relaxing, and the food was absolutelly delicious. As part of my quest to try most of the German dishes while in this country, I took up the challenge of a traditional pork hock with cooked cabbage and mashed potatoes and even if I could devour only about half of it, I testify to a great meal. Of course, it goes without saying, that the accompanying proper drink should be a local beer, preferably white.
The personal was incredibly rude. they commented when we wanted to order after they had hesitated to give us a table. when we left because we have expressed our dissatisfaction, they have made it clear that they were not satisfied with us either. doesn't deserve a star.
We had to wait about an hour to get our meal, a relatiw simple dish. all men around us have their way out of us, even if they had come in later. I understand that the things in the kitchen can go wrong and we all make mistakes. it's just that we never got an apology, the guy who brought our food, just put it in front of us without a single word. “Excuse us” or “We regret it” would have been enough. the same guy had the nerves to literally ask for a tipp a few minutes later when he presented us a bill.
Have previously visited and will do this again when they are in coln. her kalbsleber is an absolute joy probably the best meal of our day German/Netherlands/Belgium. the personal is friendly. the small courtyard is charming and a beautiful place to eat alfresco.
Fantastic food! Beautiful old restaurant. So authentic. Must look at the downstairs tables too and cellar. Staff are very friendly and chat to you. Recommended the duroc pork cutlet. It was the best I’ve rated! Wow! All the flavours were exceptional. I will be back.
