Delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere, polite and friendly staff

The service from the bartender was abysmal – aggressively unfriendly and disrespectful, without any reason on our part. The waitresses, however, did a great job, but never again! We haven't been treated this badly in a long time – Elsa is a no-go!

This bar is simply a dream! The atmosphere is totally relaxed, the staff are always in a good mood and super attentive, making you feel immediately welcome. I especially like that you can not only party here, but also just chat with friends in peace. No stress, no rush, just a great atmosphere, good people, and good drinks. If you've been here once, you'll definitely come back. Highly recommended!

The bar manager was very unfriendly and aggressive. The beer was warm, and he treated us very badly without giving him a reason. The waitress, however, tried very hard to rectify the situation. Never again, just embarrassing.

We waited about 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. In between, two of us went to the bar to order. Just before it was our turn, someone shouted loudly that they were stopping serving at the bar and would only be serving at the tables. We waited there again until we could finally order. The drinks themselves didn't arrive for another 20 minutes, and it was only Kölsch. We definitely won't be coming back.

We had received the invitation for dinner to Cologne for a few days. I read the experiences from GG colleagues x2x on Christmas markets. We already knew the plan that we could make a tour of the city centre before. Parking is not easy in Cologne and when you find a place, it often goes into the money. Under the Severins Bridge, however, only four euros cost 24 hours. After that we wanted to make a day ticket from the KVB for mini groups. So we broke up late morning. And we were lucky: no traffic jam and directly a parking lot. On the way to the railway, a little hunger came to us. Nothing big, after all, there was a dinner with several courses later. In the Severins district not all locals have already opened at lunchtime, but the selection is still huge. So what is it, just in a bistro – there was a daily dish on the table outside. The Elsa calls itself restaurant, bar and cafe. Ambiente We entered the restaurant and were welcomed friendly. Some places were still free and we could choose a table from it. The inn seemed to consist of two areas: theke and bar area as well as the seats for the dining area. This seemed all cozy and thoughtful. In style of a brewhouse Equipment: Solid chairs, bare tables. Cleanliness The house was neatly maintained. Sanitary The picture was not so good at the toilet. Very friendly and attentive staff! We were served cordially, quickly and politely. The crumbs came cold and well tapped and the food was nicely dressed and tasty. Relaxing atmosphere, pleasant and well-mixed audience.

Very good kitchen at decent prices and pleasant portion sizes. Little criticism of this evening was that not all dishes of the balanced card were to be ordered. This was certainly only due to the previous carnival weekend (11.11.). The cocktails are another highlight, especially as there is not only the usual cocktail offer. For the ambience there is a star trigger; we were more than positively surprised overall and hope that operators will have the power and endurance to implement their concept and ideas in this place. Zero eight fifteen are now more than enough!

The Elsa looks a little inconspicuous from the outside. At first glance it looked like a simple pub/bar with outdoor area, which is not meant negatively, as we had actually looked for something like that. The drinks cards in the outdoor area had unfortunately already experienced better times partly individual pages have fallen out; many pages had beverage spots, but for this, the selection of drinks, especially in gin and other spirits, was really very large. And also the beverage prices are perfectly fine for Cologne and the location . But then we got the menu which pleasantly surprised us. we went out of a bar. The selection is small but completely sufficient, so everyone should really find something for themselves. There were no 08/15 things on the map. The waiting period for food was fine, which actually speaks for a fresh preparation. During the waiting we also received a small greeting from the kitchen, besides the usual fresh slices of bread with olives and herbal butters: spirited melon soup with spicy spices that had not just come to me mega tasty : . When we then got our food tomato mozzarella salad and salmon linguine, we were finally convinced by the Elsa. It was really fresh, very well tasted and also nicely dressed. Sure, about the portion size in relation to the price you can certainly argue. However, we have become tired and have not regretted our decision. If you only see the food and the menu, you could think that it would be a restaurant of the more sophisticated cuisine... The service was also great: Nice, friendly and fast.
