We just had a couple of pints of the local Koelsch beer (for David) and 2 aperol spritzes (for me) delicious! This is a real pub down a short flight of stairs and it's cosy and welcoming. Nice staff and great drinks. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What Phil W doesn't like about Dominikaner:
Went with family for a quick drink before going for food in what we thought was a traditional Cologne bar. Not impressed with the bar man who treated us as a hinderance. Rushed into ordering drinks and looked down upon for three of our group having soft drinks. Not good for tourism. A warm welcome and a smile shouldn’t be too much to ask for at Christmas, in a town hosting Christmas Markets!! View all feedback.
This bar was opposite our hotel so we popped in for a pre-dinner beer or two. It's small but very cosy and traditional, and seemed to be popular with English-speaking tourists as well as a few Germans at the bar! Staff were friendly enough, and service was swift. Can't comment on the meals as we only had drinks, but we liked the place so much that we came back the following day for a cheeky gluhwein.
We were on our way to visit the beautiful Catholic Archdiocese Of Cologne and the magnificent Cologne Cathedral so we decided to drop into here for a couple of beers. This is a superb tavern,The interior is awesome with great stonework and superb decor and furnishings including a very impressive serving bar. We got a nice located table near the bar were one of the Köbes waiters served us a delicious Reissdorf Kölsch each, this is a delicious light and hoppy beer and very tasty. I love the variety of Kölsch beers available in Cologne and Reissdorf Kölsch is a beer style I really enjoy. On this visit I cannot comment on the meals as we were only here for some beers but I must say that the meals leaving the kitchen looked and smelt delicious and on our next visit we are most certainly going to try out their meal menu. We ended up staying here for two beers each before my twin brother Stephen and I moved on and for a first time visit we were very impressed with this superb tavern. Dominikaner is really easy to locate on An Den Dominikanern facing the wonderful church Catholic Archdiocese Of Cologne. A great tavern in a great location and well worth checking out.
