Balthasar - Köln

I've been in "Balthasar" with my family to enjoy a good breakfast. The breakfast was very tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The location is pretty good-looking and harmonic. The service was friendly.

Had a good steak here but it was quite expensive and does not come with veg or accompaniments. I had pepper sauce and potatoes on the side which made it an expensive meal. Meal good, beer good, service good. They can be busy.

Good lunch with excellent wine! Had steak which was excellent. Nice to stop when you really need a break, wine and food. Good ambiance and location, fair prices!

Well I have to admit that I did not expect too much from the restaurant. I have walked by it at least a thousand times and never found it interesting enough to enter. A bit touristic and pseudo chic it seemed, but the day came that I was invited there to dinner from colleagues and I am glad I went. Cool crowd, good wine and a really well prepared salad nicoise made me retake my opinion. Make sure to book a table in advance as it gets really crowded even on workdays. All in all a great spot to meet friends for dinner or just start the a long night out when in Cologne. Right in the middle of it all.

Great quality food. Being served with a real smile and great wine recommendation! And waitresses that you would like to be your girlfriend ;-) Highly recommended when visiting Cologne!
