Mercato Deluxe Alberto Frei - Koeln

I can't write it often enough: the Mercato is and remains my favorite restaurant in Cologne. Excellent, diverse antipasti, wonderful stews and meat dishes and a stunningly good dessert plate. What more do you want? Oh, a super nice service and a big wine card!

And in summer, when you can use the tables outside, you sometimes have the chance to get a place spontaneously. I have already said all the more about Mercato several times: excellent food at fair prices with very good wines and that in really enough large portions with an incredible appetizer plate and with the most delicious desserts I know. Very, very good!

We stayed at Mercato last Saturday for dinner. Due to good reviews in various forums, we decided for this restaurant and were not disappointed. The excellent service and the good recommendations of the waiter, who comes to his guests, contributed to the delicious appetizers, very judicious main dishes and then the desserts. We were lucky to sit out, which was very nice. But we're looking forward to the next time we're going to sit inside to witness the drive. Keep going like that, then make fun. Thanks for the wonderful evening.

We were kind and cordially received. the service told us to eat and drink competently. the food was delicious! not quite cheap: appetizers just under 10 euro, most main dishes between 11 and 18 euro. there were not many, but just enough dishes for vegetarians. a vegetarian wish (pasta with garlic and chili) was immediately fulfilled. all ordered dishes had superbly fine sauces, which are freely selectable in some places. the open wines were very good in temperature and quality. the whole ambiente was warm, relaxed, appealing through the long tasty counter. Let's go back!

As always excellent food in large portions at fair prices with excellent wines. The card is not big absolute highlight for me is the quite medium rare fried lamb crown (not letting off the price on request) but actually I can recommend every main dish completely harmless. And the large appetizer plate and the dessert buffet I would almost call a respect for it. However, you should definitely reserve it in time, because the good reputation has spoken around and it is difficult to get a table even at pretheather times (in this case with the Cinedom around the corner rather pre-cino times).
