Java Flats - Feedback

Was User at Java Flats a mag?
I had an amazing sandwich—the Trailblazer on a jalapeño cheddar bagel—and it was fantastic! It was a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and flavor. I will definitely be back! The place seemed quite popular, and there was a bit of a wait, which is always a good sign. I also tried a chocolate chip cookie, which was massive—about six inches across! I loved it! View all feedback.

Decent food but very expensive considering portion size
Fresh, fresh, fresh! Who would think on an Island of Alaska in the middle of the ocean you would get such yummy fresh sammies! Thank you Alicia!
Like the Rendezvous it's a must when in Kodiak. Easy to order online and outstanding food and service.
Delicious, fresh sandwiches made by a talented and friendly group of young individuals!
This restaurant is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you care about other customers, please order online to help everyone avoid having to wait in line for 20 minutes.

I live 3,500 miles away, and my team couldn't stop raving about this place. I can honestly say it was worth the trip! I tried the pesto chicken sandwich on a sesame bagel, accompanied by a side of corn and pepper chowder. Both were delicious, although the chowder was a bit greasy. I washed it down with a seasonal peppermint white chocolate mocha and had to try the famous cookies—don't skip on those! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive to the customers. I will definitely return before I head home!

Java Flats was hands down my favorite restaurant while living on the island! Not much of a coffee drinker, it was a treat to choose with a variety of hot tea options. Whether it was a huge delicious cookie or one of the amazing Croissant Sandwiches, a trip to Java Flats was always a treat. It has been more than two years since I left the island, and I still think of the amazing space that Alicia has created with so many wonderful memories. 10/10 would recommend!
Can?t say enough about their customer service and quality of coffee and food. They are always friendly and happy to be keeping the population of Kodiak well caffeinated :D Plus, the cookies are out of this world. The photo shows a couple gingerbread cookies I picked up this morning. I?ve also had several of their vegetarian sandwich and chili options and they?re equally as delicious. So glad to have this option a mere 6 minutes from me!
We're huge fans of Java Flats! Their food is delicious, the unique, quaint but cozy, mountain ski-resort coffee breakfast-bistro vibe is perfectly balanced with the welcoming small-town-friendly team that works there. We love it so much that when we were in Kodiak visiting my Daughter her husband, who was stationed at the Coast Guard base in 2012, we visited Java Flats almost every morning for 2 straight weeks... I developed an addiction to their homemade granola bars. Even after returning home to Virginia Beach, I've never forgotten how delicious those granola bars were. I've looked everywhere locally, even learned how to make my own granola bars, but they just didn't hold a candle to Java Flats granola bars. In fact, nothing even comes close. So, after all these years of missing those incredibly good granola bars, I finally messaged Alicia at Java Flats, she was kind enough to go out of her way mail a bunch of her homemade granola bars to me all the way out here in Virginia Beach! And guess what?!? They're every bit as delicious as I remember! My Husband I were thrilled, I could not be happier, or more grateful, for her taking her personal time to do such a kind gracious favor for me! This place is just THE BEST! The food is fantastic, but it's the team that calls Java Flats home that is what really makes it so special! I couldn't recommend them more highly, Alicia, I just can't thank you enough! ?????

The best in Kodiak! I don't know what they put in their cookies but they are so tasty.
The food is fantastic! This restaurant offers drive-thru service only, with outdoor seating available on the front covered deck. It’s not the best choice if you’re in a hurry, but it’s definitely worth the wait if you have a little time to spare. The online pre-ordering process is straightforward, and our orders have always been accurate. There’s a great selection to choose from, too!
You can place your order online and then drive up for pickup. Indoor dining is not offered, but there are a few tables and chairs available outside. Be sure to try the cookies!
The food options here are incredibly fresh and delicious! I can't emphasize that enough; everything is simply delightful.
I tried their vegan breakfast burrito and loved it. It's a modest sized burrito, but it came with side of tortilla chips and salsa which made for a fulfilling lunch. I also got a large London Fog latte and it was good as well. Updated from previous review on 2023-06-05

I can't express enough how impressed I am with their customer service and the quality of their coffee and food. The staff is always friendly and radiates positivity while ensuring that everyone in Kodiak stays well-caffeinated! :D Plus, the cookies are absolutely incredible. The photo features a couple of gingerbread cookies I bought this morning. I've also tried several of their vegetarian sandwiches and chili options, and they are just as amazing. I'm so thrilled to have this gem just a short 6-minute drive away!
Java Flats was definitely my favorite restaurant during my time on the island! Even though I'm not much of a coffee drinker, I really enjoyed the diverse selection of hot tea available. Whether I stopped by for one of their delicious cookies or one of the fantastic croissant sandwiches, every visit to Java Flats felt special. It's been over two years since I moved away, but I still fondly remember the wonderful atmosphere Alicia created and all the great memories I made there. I wholeheartedly recommend it—10 out of 10!
The prices are a bit high, but the food is absolutely delicious. Treat yourself to a cookie—they're the best on the island!
