We stayed at the Stein Apartments, just across the street from the Rustica. We were late arriving and glad to have the restaurant only a few meters away! Dinner was fine, no complaints. The only small problem was payment. They refused my HSBC Mastercard for unknown reasons. They made a suggestion that I go up the street to an ATM to get cash! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pizzeria La Rustica:
The pizza was very average and not very Italian. The salads were crisp and fresh. The restaurant was not run by Italians and the food shows it. It was clean and descent, but not an experience I would really recommend. Koblenz must have better choices than the one I made by eating here. View all feedback.
My partner and I went to this Restaurant again on 14 February 2017. I had called two weeks before to make a reservation for 2 persons. I told the person on the telephone that I had the ‘Be My Koblenz’ Restaurant Coupon Book and she confirmed my reservation for 14 February 2017. However, when we arrived the manager told me the coupon in the book for his restaurant was not good on ‘German Holidays’, which I knew! (Then he ignored me and started taking to the people standing behind us. Rude!) But the 14th of February is not a German Holiday! While 14 February is Valentine’s Day, an import from the U.S; it isn’t even a Holiday in the U.S! It is Valentine’s Day but it is not a Holiday! It is like Halloween or St. Patrick’s Day; they are days that some people celebrate in the U.S. but they are not Holidays! Seems however, that in Germany people can just make-up their own laws as it suits them. We left the establishment and ate at Restaurant Artuso instead. Great place Restaurant Artuso! We will NEVER be back to Pizzeria La Nuova Rustica in Koblenz, again! And if they cannot stick to the rules they shouldn’t be in the ‘Be My Koblenz’ Restaurant Coupon Book!
Pizzeria La Nuova Rustica, Koblenz GermanyMore than Pizza - Italian Restaurant in KoblenzMy partner and I went to this restaurant for dinner on Saturday night Easter weekend. She had heard good things about the food and we were not disappointed. We were greeted at the door and offered a choice of tables since it was early and the restaurant was not full. Inside there are both tables and booths to choose from and there are also tables outside where one can sit to eat in the pedestrian zone. The Restaurant is nicely decorated with photos and paintings of Italy; maybe too many photos and paintings of Italy for the size of the restaurant. We had a nice candle and large decorated thick paper napkins, at our table, which I prefer, instead of cloth napkins. The restaurant is tight in some places, but every space is used. The food was very good. At first, I thought the prices were a bit high but the portions are big. The Menu is thick and has lots of choices, not just Pizza. After ordering, we had time to talk a while, until our food was served, which didn’t take long. Our food arrived at the table hot and both dishes arrived together, as it should be. In fact, my food was served on a hot plate that was still cooking when it came to the table. Simply super! And after our food came my partner and I were able to have a good conversation while we ate without interruption, except to be asked if everything was OK and to pick-up the empty plates, as it should be. Also, since the acoustics inside were OK, we could hear each other. I had baked chicken with a baked potato. The baked potato came with sour cream but I was able to substitute butter for the sour cream. So, small substitutions are possible. My partner had turkey with rigatoni in a curry sauce and sliced potatoes. I tasted both dishes and both were very good. This restaurant is open for lunch and is open late into the early morning.I did not find a specific Internet site for this restaurant, but they are on FaceBook. We will be back here to eat again.Negative: 1) Reservations are not possible and they only take cash as payment, no credit cards. 2) The clock inside is broken and 3) Parking is on the street, so one has to pay, if they want to pay again to have the privilege to eat at this restaurant.
Maybe it was the mood, maybe the company, maybe that I hadn't had ravioli for some time. But for whatever reason, this simple offering, the "Ravioli Nuova Rustica" was absolutely delicious. The delicate saffron cream sauce accompanying the small homemade ravioli stuffed tenderly with a dab of spinach and cheese created an unforgettable experience on my palate.
